About this safari
This 5 days safari heads north from Nairobi past Mount Kenya to Samburu National Reserve, home to wildlife rarely seen elsewhere in Kenya such as the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy's Zebra, Beisa Oryx and the Somali Ostrich. It ends with two nights at Sweetwaters in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, with views of Mount Kenya and Kenya's only chimpanzee sanctuary.

Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1Nairobi - Samburu
Leave Nairobi in the morning and drive North past Kenya's Central Highlands, Mount Kenya and the dramatic semi-arid scrubland of the Northern Frontier to Samburu National Reserve arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive in Samburu to see the rare resident wildlife species like the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy's Zebra, Beisa Oryx and the Blue-necked Somali Ostrich that are not seen elsewhere in the country. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2Samburu Game Reserve
After breakfast enjoy and deeply explore the Samburu secrets and uniqueness in two game drives. The unique Samburu terrain and residents are sights you don’t want to let go therefore we shall have enough of these in a morning and afternoon Game drive. Dinner and overnight at your Samburu safari lodge/camp.
Day 3Samburu Game Reserve - Sweetwaters/Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast and a short game drive depart Samburu for Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary. Lunch at the Sweetwaters Tented Camp - a luxury tented camp that enjoys magnificent views across the plains to the snow-capped peaks of Mt Kenya. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive. Sweetwaters also houses the only Chimpanzee Sanctuary of its kind in Kenya. The Chimpanzee Sanctuary comprises of riverine forest and savannah grasslands and is the home to orphaned, mistreated chimpanzees. Dinner and overnight at the Sweetwaters Tented Camp.
Day 4Full day in Sweetwaters/Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Full day spent in Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary with morning and afternoon game drives. Optional full day game drive with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at the Sweetwaters Serena Tented Camp.
Day 5Sweetwaters/Ol Pejeta Conservancy - Nairobi
After breakfast you will have a short game drive as you drive back to Nairobi where you will arrive in the afternoon.
